OKLAHOMA CITY, March 17, 2016 -- Love's opened its doors for business today in Scott City, Kansas, along U.S. Highway 83, giving residents in western Kansas a new place to purchase fuel, snacks and more.
"This location will fit in well with our growing network of stores in the area," said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love's Travel Stops. "With its location along U.S. Highway 83, we're in a great place to serve residents, the motoring public and professional drivers. We look forward to serving all our Customers with the 'Clean Places, Friendly Faces' Love's is known for."
Love's opened a travel stop in Holcomb in January. A Love's Country Store opened in Garden City in February.
The 24-hour, 4,000-square-foot facility adds approximately 30 jobs to Scott County. Customers can enjoy a SONIC Drive-In, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift merchandise, name-brand electronics and more. Professional drivers can take advantage of two showers and 53 truck-parking spaces.
The new SONIC Drive-In is the latest in a line of new drive-in formats that demonstrates SONIC's flexibility in developing creative building solutions to match the needs of local franchisees and the needs of their guests. SONIC offers multiple formats from the traditional drive-in model with up to 29 dining stalls and a drive-thru to customizable indoor spaces, allowing guests to experience SONIC in multiple ways - either in their cars, at the drive-thru or seated at a table inside.
"Love's has been a stellar partner for the SONIC brand, delivering our one of a kind dining experience and menu items to hungry guests visiting their iconic travel stops," said John Budd, chief development and strategy officer for SONIC. "This newest drive-in is a testament to the effectiveness of SONIC's flexible building options, and we look forward to serving Scott City guests for many years to come."
Love's will donate $1,000 to Scott City Elementary School and $1,000 to the Scott County Library as a part of a ribbon cutting at the new Love's at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18.
